OUR NEED

Total Cost involved for the courses is determined at

INR 20,89,000 (USD 49,740) for the year 2011-12 (12 months period).

We will be receiving support of INR 3,42,000 (USD 8,340)

and we need INR 16,97,400 (USD 41,400).

Elderly Care Programs

Old age is a challenging phase in our life; for some, it is a phase full of anxiety, stress and even agony.  According to a survey, it is estimated that 60 percent of the elderly population are left out in the lurch without care and are considered a burden.  The elderly who deserve love, warmth and care are meted out ill treatment.  A feeling totally grips them where they undergo trauma of loneliness, apathy and being unwanted.

The South Asia Council for Community and Children in Crisis responds to the suffering of elder people by providing them with financial assistance to buy food and medicines.  The Council is presently running two projects for the elderly.

Assistance to the Aged in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh

and

Assistance to the Aged in Bangalore, Karnataka

Cost of Support to Sponsor

We welcome you to participate in this worthy cause

  • a street child or an orphan or for a girls child's education and training is $35 per month;
  • a rural/urban slum women's training and rehabilitation is $25 per month;
  • an aged person is $20 per month;
  • a rural family with a cow is $400 (one time)

If you participate in sponsoring any of the categories, the relevant profile will be sent to you.

Quarterly, yearly gifts and contribution to defray the cost of health services, community education and development activities, infrastructure and administrative expenses are welcome.
