SAC-CCC Viva Network is initiated in the year 2007 under the adept leadership and guidance of Dr. D. Samuel Issmer, the Executive Director of The South Asia Council for Community and Children in Crisis, Bangalore.  The primary objective of this Christian Network agency is to map our as many as Christian civil society organizations involved in the area f care to the children at risk in the city of Bangalore, numbering not less than 65 in two years time.  The secondary objective is to reach out to these organizations in order to equip them, strengthen then in their service to the children at risk (care).  However we have in our network more than the above stipulated number, with the dedicated work of viva team we were able to identify 140 such organizations, from which 125 were found fit to be enlisted into the network of SAC-CCC Viva.  From this strength, again 25 organizations which at present actively engaged in the child care practice were selected for a training tool called Quality Improvement System (QIS).

What is distinct about SAC-CCC Viva Network?

Diversity in child care service which include church lay leaders, ordained pastors, notable Christian agencies in and around Bangalore have forged alliance and come together to form this formidable network.  Another special feature of this network is that we have members from CSI/Catholic/Pentecostal/AG/and other churches from independent groups which have specialized in thei service to various groups of children at risk.  Without doubt, SAC-CCC Viva Network is truly ecumenical in nature.  Some of the categories of children at risk to which our members cater to are: Orphans, semi-orphans, girl child projects, child labor centers, disabled children's homes, HIV affected and infected children, street children, children from Devadasi (temple prostitution) system.
